About Julyse

I am originally from the Ivory Coast and Benin (2 West
African French-speaking countries). I was born in the Ivory
Coast and raised in France. I moved to New York City at the age
of 13, and lived there for 10 years, before moving to South Florida
to pursue my Masters. My current hobbies include traveling, dining out, being on the water, and spending time with my loved ones. I am currently a Board Certified Behavior Analyst working for Positive Behavior Supports, Corp., where I provide in-home, school-based,
and community-based behavior analysis services to children and adults with ASD, developmental disorders, and other challenging behavioral disorders.

Research Interests

Currently, my primary research area of interest is in behavioral economics, specifically a) delay discounting, effort discounting, and their implications in the assessment of impulsive choice behavior in children and adults. I have recently finished two research projects – one on the assessment of impulsivity using variations of delay discounting and delay of gratification procedures, and the other on delay and effort discounting tasks as measures of impulsivity in adults – and currently, I am working on my dissertation project, which consists of evaluating the efficacy of delay and effort choice tasks as measures of impulsivity in preschoolers.  Other and previous research interests of mine include the assessment and treatment of challenging/severe behavior disorders. I am currently in the
processof publishing a clinical study – which was also my
master’s thesis – on the assessment and treatment
of rumination.
